MenuAt the Annual Meeting of the Council held 12th May 2016 Cllr Jane Dargue was elected as the new Mayor with Cllr Helen Lewis as her Deputy.
Out going Mayor, Cllr Craig Weir was congratulated and commended by those present for his dedication, hard work and commitment during his 3 years as Mayor.
Thanking all of the Members for their support, Cllr Dargue went on to say, ‘Craig will be a will be a very hard act to follow – as Mayor and through various other community roles, he has worked tirelessly and with complete dedication for the town over the last three years. During this time Amble has really grown both in confidence and outlook.
The role of Chair of this Council and Mayor of this town does not come without much hard work, dedication and determination to see a job done. It is not a role to be taken lightly. I am lucky in that I have a wonderful legacy to build on and most importantly, have a great team to work with – and when I say team I mean not just Cllrs but Elaine and Vicki who work with equal commitment and enthusiasm. I know that I can count on complete commitment to both council and town from everyone going forward. Thank you.’
