4. Agenda items

As per the previous meeting the short term measures regarding the removal of loading bays had been taken care of.

It was queried whether the Highways Officers had investigated the planning condition on the Coquet Street car park relating to public parking.  They had made initial enquiries but but did not have any response as yet.

Amble Business Club representative Ann Burke provided feedback on the changes to date commenting that it had been a fantastic improvement to the street however the only problem was that enforcement was not being carried out on the one hour waiting restriction.  She also commented that the traffic wardens could have been introduced to the street more effectively.

The Clerk informed of a request from a resident of North Street  for double yellow lines as they were having problems with wagons parking.  Paul was aware of the residents concerns and was already in the process of addressing them directly.

The issues of the road/rights of way at North Street were discussed and the Highways Officers were not aware of any plans being considered for this area at present but with the impending supermarket development they would make themselves more familiar with the an potential plans.

Cllr Mrs Lewis informed of previous requests from the Town Council under the Local Transport Plan which included:

  • Double yellow lines at the junction of Dovecote Street to Church Street

The Highways Officers would investigate possible solutions for the junction of Dovecote Street which would dangerous when exiting.

  • Yellow lines were requested on other junctions as per the Local Transport Plan – the Clerk would provide Highways with copies of the requests
