Schools Receive Commemorative Shield

The Jubilee and Summer Games Shield

Amble Town Council members agreed for the town schools to receive a shield to commemorate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and Summer Games of 2012. 

The Mayor attended an assembly at Amble Links First School to present the shield to the school. He explained the importance of the shield in the town’s history to remind the children of the celebrations which were held to commemorate the two events.

James Calvert Spence College received two shields which were to be distributed to the Acklington Road and South Avenue sites.

The remaining schools would receive the shields once a date and time had been agreed.
