Views sought on housing design plans
The County Council is inviting communities to share their views on proposed new housing design standards which will help shape the quality and appearance of new homes, streets and neighbourhoods across Northumberland.
Once adopted, the new Northumberland Housing Design Standards (NHDS) Supplementary Plan will be used to decide planning applications, alongside the current and future Local Plan.
The Supplementary Plan will set clear design requirements for housing development. They will apply across the whole county (excluding the National Park), and some may be tailored to different types of places.
The focus is on the design of new homes, streets and neighbourhoods, helping to ensure development creates high-quality, attractive and well-designed places.
