Amble Town Council – Amenities Bi-Monthly Roundup – March 2025

Amble Town Council – Amenities Bi-Monthly Roundup – March 2025

Town

All tree works within the West Cemetery and Memorial Gardens are now completed.

Seat bars are to be installed in a number of bus shelters within the town; however there will be no seat bars installed within those on High Street and Church Street as the area is too narrow at these locations.

Seating

The refurbishment programme continues this year with ten more seats being replaced. The seat in Philip Drive is being removed as there is no longer a bus service stopping here. Seats which are still serviceable are being donated to charitable organisations in the town. Warkworth Harbour Commission have kindly donated a ‘chatty bench’ seat which will be located looking over the Marina once the necessary land permissions are received.

Cemeteries

Remaining memorials designated as requiring attention in previous surveys will all soon be laid down. This year’s survey has highlighted further memorials requiring work for their stability. Deed holders are reminded that they are responsible to ensure memorials are maintained. Failure to update contact details and to carry out repair requests will result in Council taking any necessary measures that are required to ensure safety for everyone.

Kerb works to widen the entrance area around the fountain will begin in the near future, Council will keep residents informed once further information is available.

Water is now turned on.

Play Areas

A new and improved water feature has now been installed at Paddlers Park. These continual repairs are expensive so please report anyone you see misusing this.

Allotments

AAHS are continuing to monitor government guidelines regarding the Avian Bird Flu.

The allotment boundary fencing on Percy Drive has now been repaired following the road traffic incident which damaged it.
