Amble Town Council – Monthly Roundup – October 2024
Councillor Vacancy
Your Council Needs You!!! Do you care about YOUR town?
Do you want to influence and have a say about what happens in YOUR town?
Are you prepared to speak up for YOUR town?
Then we want to hear from you. We are delighted to welcome Ivor Rackham as a co-opted member but we still have a Councillor vacancy here at Amble Town Council. If you think this is something you are interested in, please contact the office for an informal chat. The time to stand up and be counted is NOW!
Community Hub for Amble
Council is working hard to investigate options for a possible Community Hub in Amble. The first public engagement event has taken place to seek public views and ascertain support for a Community Hub in Amble. Another session has been arranged for 19th November 2024, 1pm – 6pm in the Conference Room, Fourways2. We still need to hear from as many of you as possible. What are your views on this? Does Amble need a community building? What could it be used for? Come and talk to us at any time between 1pm and 6pm on 19 November 2024.
Gift for Amble’s new schools
Council is delighted to say that Members agreed to donating £1000 to each of the new schools in Amble. Amble Links Primary School, King Edward Primary School, Barndale by the Sea School and once built, the new JCSC site will each receive this gift. Schools will be free to purchase whatever they need but Council have asked that some of the funds are spent on a lasting memento to celebrate the creation of the new school.
Parking
We are delighted to learn that an agreement for use of the school car park has been proposed. We hope the parking pressures on Acklington Road and Bisley Road will now be resolved. We pass our thanks to JCSC and the football club for working closely together in finding a resolution suitable for everyone.
Remembrance Day 2024
Council will host its annual Remembrance Day Service on Sunday 10th November 2024. This event is always very well attended and we look forward to seeing you all there.
