Despite the atrocious weather many people still turned out in force to help clean up the Town.
Saturday the 11th of February will be remembered as a wet, cold and miserable day but still a group of hardy folk, Town Councillors and the 3 Platoon W Company Northumbria Army Cadets, aka Amble & Broomhill Cadets turned out to lend a hand.
Ten bags of litter were collected including a large amount of electrical wiring, a broken hola hoop, glasses, bottles, cans and a eight foot Christmas Tree which was dragged off the Braid by Army Cadet Edwards.
The Town Council awarded all those who partook in the litter pick with chocolates as a way of appreciation for their efforts, especially as it was on such an awful day.
