The Queen’s 90th Birthday Beacon Celebration

Her Majesty The Queen is celebrating her 90th Birthday on 21st April 2016.

There is a long and unbroken tradition in our country of celebrating Royal jubilees, weddings, coronations and special birthdays with the lighting of beacons – on top of mountains, churches and castle battlements, on town and village greens, farms, country parks and estates, and  along the beaches surrounding our shores.

This tradition will be maintained on Thursday 21st April 2016, when beacons will be lit throughout the United Kingdom, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and UK Overseas Territories in celebration of Her Majesty The Queen’s 90th Birthday that day.

Amble will be taking part by lighting its own beacon on the Braid.
