Recently Arriva have suggested that in the future they may change the route of the X20 to incorporate Percy Drive- however without showing a plan.  Whilst welcoming this in principle, we need clarification of the possible new route as we are unsure what other parts of the town could be affected by any change. When Council had meetings with NCC officers and Arriva officials some time ago- when it was first proposed to delete the ‘Links Estate’ from the X20 route- we did ask for future consideration to be given to this rerouting. We suggested the bus turning at the Mason’s Arms to go along Albert Street and down Percy Drive to Church Street as we felt the number of residences in this area would make it a more economically viable prospect. However this may not be what they are considering so we have asked for clarification. They are also suggesting that Alnmouth Station is added to the X20 instead of the X18 so that it is easier for people from this area to connect with the trains.
