MenuPreparations are well advanced for the Town Council’s plans to commemorate Remembrance Day. On Sunday 9th November, at 10.58am, a short service by Coquet Churches Together will be held at the War Memorials in Amble Town Square Memorial Gardens. During this, wreaths will be laid at both memorials by various organisations in tribute to those who gave their lives in conflicts.
Please be aware that at 11am and 11.02am rockets will be fired from the Braid to mark the 2 minutes’ silence. [These will also be set off on Armistice Day.]
After the wreaths have been placed, the Amble Detachment of Northumbria Army Cadets will lead the parade up Queen Street and High Street to the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church for the Service of Remembrance.
All are invited to join with us to reflect on the sacrifice made by so many.
