Amble Mayor, Craig Weir, attended the official opening of the newly refurbished Bailiffgate Museum Gallery in Alnwick on 11th February.
Commenting on the event, Craig said ‘It would not have been possible to imagine that this project could take place without the support of the Duke of Northumberland and the dedicated volunteer staff. The hard work over the past few years and especially the past few months with the new exhibitions has certainly paid off’.
Craig recommended that the museum is well worth a visit at a very reasonable price, it will be an asset to Alnwick and a great Tourist attraction. He felt that highlights of the exhibition were ‘Northumberland through the ages’ with special emphasis on how Alnwick has survived numerous battles against invaders and pestilence. The exhibition for the WW1 centenary is also worth a look.
Craig thoroughly enjoyed the evening .
