Town Council minutes of meeting held 22nd August 2013

Minutes of a meeting of Amble Town Council held on Thursday 22nd August 2013 at 6.00pm in the Council Office, The Quayside, Harbour Road, Amble.

1. PRESENT: Cllrs Weir (Chair), Arckless, Mrs Dargue, Mrs Lewis, Mrs Bennett, Rev’d Nicholson and the Clerk; Miss Brown.

 

2. APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE:

Apologies had been received from Cllr Morrison who was on holiday. The apologies were agreed.

 

3. ACCEPTANCE OF DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST: None.

5.  AGENDA ITEMS:

5.1: To consider 5% funding for the ‘In Memory of the Fallen’ World War One Centenary project – previously agreed in principle.  Following a favourable response from Heritage Lottery Fund on the expression of interest form, it was RESOLVED that the Council contribute £1000 towards the project.  It was delegated to Cllrs Lewis and Dargue with the Clerk to collect formal signed letters of support from the agreed parties and to progress the application.

5.2: To consider the purchase of an Enviropol litter bin for Leazes Street – previously agreed to purchase 2 x bins within budget but due to increased cost per bin this requires approval by the Council.  It was RESOLVED to purchase a second Enviropol litter bin to the same specifications as the previous order.

 

6.  DATE & TIME OF NEXT MEETING:

6:1 The date & time of the next Meeting will be on Thursday 12th September 2013 at approx. 6.30pm. in the Town Council Meeting Room, The Quayside, Amble 

 

It was RESOLVED that under Section 100A (4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the press and public will be excluded from the Meeting during consideration of the following items on the Agenda due to their sensitive nature.

7:   To consider a Land Registry Title transfer in respect of land at High Street

The Clerk presented the Land Registry – transfer of part or registered title (TP1) complete with a plan regarding the transfer of a length of land measuring 0.6m in width from the Council.  It was RESOLVED that the transfer be agreed and the TP1 signed.  The Clerk would send a covering letter to the transferee’s solicitor along with the design plan for the new wall as was previously submitted to and approved by the Council requesting it be indicated with the legal paperwork that the new wall must correspond to this.
