Jane Dargue of Gloster Meadows was elected unopposed to fill the final Central Ward vacancy in January. Jane has lived in Amble for almost fifteen years, is married and has a teenage daughter who attends James Calvert Spence College.
Originally from Cornwall, Jane has worked for a number of years as a book valuer and buyer at Barter Books and prior to this as a C.A.B advisor in Amble and Alnwick. Her interests include music, photography and history. She is a member of Morpeth Camera Club, Alnwick Choral Society and studied for her Masters degree in history at the University of Kent at Canterbury.
Jane says that she hopes to bring a fresh outlook to her work with the Town Council and emphasises her commitment to working with her colleagues to further the interests of Amble in supporting business and tourism, encouraging trade, employment and leisure facilities, and in working hard to continue Amble’s development as a flourishing community.
