Minutes of a Meeting of Planning Committee held on Tuesday 22nd November 2011 at 6.30 p.m. in The Council Office, The Quayside, Amble.
1. PRESENT:
Cllr Hinson (Chair), Cllr Bilboe (Vice Chair), Cllr Morrison and Rev. Nicholson together with the Clerical Assistant, Mrs A Burn.
2. APOLOGIES:
2.1: Cllr Mrs Lewis – declared an interest.
2.2: Cllr Weir – holidays.
The apologies were proposed for acceptance by Cllr Hinson, seconded by Cllr Bilboe and agreed.
3. CLERK’S REPORT:
3.1: Responses entered on to the new Northumberland County Council website.
4. DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST:
Cllr Mrs Lewis had declared an interest.
5. AGENDA ITEMS:
5.1: The approval of Committee terms of reference
Cllr Hinson asked the members if they had any suggestions for altering the terms of reference, all members declined.
The Clerical Assistant suggested the NCC link be included in the terms of reference and on the planning agenda.
The Clerical Assistant suggested the members arrange an appointment to view the planning applications during her working hours be included in the terms of reference and on the planning agenda.
Cllr Hinson would prefer the planning applications to be available to view at all times.
The Clerical Assistant assured Cllr Hinson if a member contacted the office, the time would be made available to view the planning applications.
Cllr Hinson along with the members present requested the Clerical Assistant’s working hours, 9.00am – 12.30pm, Mon, Tues, Thurs and Fri.
The Clerical Assistant requested if a site visit for controversial planning applications should be included in the terms of reference.
Cllr Hinson agreed a site visit should be included in the terms of reference
Cllr Hinson proposed the suggested alterations be carried out by the Clerical Assistant, seconded by Cllr Bilboe and agreed.
6. COMMUNICATIONS/QUESTIONS FROM THE PUBLIC:
None.
7. PLANNING APPLICATIONS:
7.1:11/01429/CCM – Amble Skips, Coquet Enterprise Park, Amble.
No objections – The incinerator is to burn natural wood only. Concerns were raised regarding how the NCC Planning Dept. would ensure no painted wood or other toxic items would be burned in the incinerator. Could the wood not be transported to the incinerator on the Duke of Northumberland’s Land in Alnwick.
8. DATE & TIME OF NEXT MEETING: The next Meeting will be arranged when any Planning Applications are received, (provisionally) at 6.30 p.m. in The Council Office, The Quayside, Amble.
There being no further business the meeting closed at 6.46p.m.

Cllr Bilboe requested a separate meeting be held regarding the above subject as all members of the Council were not aware it was being discussed and were not present.
