MenuThe exciting news has now been revealed that Amble has been selected to be one of the ‘Communities on Route’ for the London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay.
The Torch will be lit in Olympia in Greece in May before being flown via British Airways to the UK for a 70 day relay around the Country. The Torch will pass through many villages, towns and cities on its’ journey through the UK. Following an overnight stay in Alnwick, the torch will come through Amble on Friday 15th June. The exact route through Amble will not be announced until the beginning of May.
This is a fantastic once in a life time opportunity for the town and its’ people to demonstrate how the Olympic Spirit is alive and well as the Olympic flame shines through Amble.
The Town Council will be discussing this news further at their meeting on Thursday 10th November.
