After managing to secure nearly 50% grant funding from War Memorials Trust, we are pleased to say that the Grade II listed Radcliffe War Memorial will be restored in the first week of October, if not sooner.
The restoration will include the cleaning and re-pointing of the masonry, cleaning of the white marble panels and replacement of lead letters. The War Memorial, which was originally erected on the road side in the village of Radcliffe in approx. 1928, was moved to Amble Memorial Gardens within the Town Square in the 1973 when the village was opencast for coal and most of the population relocated to the town.
