Newcastle Airport began a consultation period in May to get the views of stakeholders and the public on the Masterplan for Newcastle Airport to 2035, which you were contacted about. The consultation period will soon close with all representations needed by the 13th September 2018.
The Airport has had high levels of engagement so far, with feedback being provided via public meetings, social media and our Masterplan website. However, with the consultation closing date drawing nearer we don’t want any members of the public or local businesses and organisations to miss out on providing their feedback. This email is intended as a polite reminder of the consultation deadline. Any help raising awareness of the consultation deadline would be greatly appreciated.
The Masterplan is a long term strategic plan for the Airport to guide future growth, land use, and frame our approach to mitigating any identified impacts of this. Passenger numbers, which reached nearly 5.4 million in 2017, are expected to continue grow in the years to 2035, alongside an increase in aircraft movements. The Airport’s growth could have a significant positive impact on the local economy through more direct onsite jobs, and an increase in the number of jobs supported by the connections the Airport provides.
